The Yukon Tourism Relocation Rebate Fund helps support out-of-territory students and recent graduates by covering a portion of their relocation costs to work in Yukon’s tourism sector.
Whether you’re a student on a seasonal placement or a new graduate starting your career, this pilot program can help reduce the relocation cost, including transportation and first-month accommodation — and open the door to unforgettable northern experiences.
Who is this program for?
This fund is open to current post-secondary students and recent graduates (within the past three years) from designated Canadian institutions who, between April 1 and October 31, 2026, have relocated from outside the Yukon for a tourism job and completed at least 420 work hours in Yukon’s tourism sector.
The program is open to all positions across the Yukon tourism sectors:
- Food and beverage
- Accommodation
- Wilderness tourism
- Arts and culture, sports and events
- Travel services
- Transportation
Both seasonal placements and year-round roles are eligible. This is a pilot program with limited annual funding, and not all applicants who meet the minimum eligibility criteria will be approved.
What’s covered?
Approved applicants may receive up to 80% of eligible relocation costs, to a maximum of $1,600 per person. Eligible expenses include:
- First month of accommodation in the Yukon
- One-way or round-trip flights between your home city and the Yukon
- Mileage reimbursement if driving from outside the territory with proper documentation, calculated using the Yukon government’s distance allowance for private vehicle chart
All relocation costs must be paid by the applicant upfront and will be reimbursed only after 420 work hours are completed and documentation is verified.
Application schedule
2026–27 cycle. The application deadline is October 31, 2026. All applicants must submit their complete application before this date; late or incomplete applications will not be considered. All eligible applications will be reviewed in November by the industry-led committee. Reimbursements for successful applicants will be issued by December 31, 2026.
